한 달 전부터 계획했던 주차장 보강 공사를 오늘 드디어 진행했습니다.

장마와 잦은 비로 인해 시멘트 작업을 미루고 있었지만, 오늘은 맑고 화창한 날씨 덕분에 가장 좋은 조건에서 공사를 마칠 수 있었습니다.

패인 부분을 정리한 후 모래를 채워 기초를 단단히 다지고, 시멘트로 꼼꼼하게 마감하여 바닥을 평탄하게 보수했습니다.

어르신과 보호자, 직원 모두가 매일 이용하는 공간인 만큼 작은 홈 하나도 안전과 직결됩니다. 가림요양원과 가림주간보호센터는 눈에 잘 띄지 않는 작은 부분까지 꾸준히 관리하며 더욱 안전한 생활환경을 만들어가겠습니다.

Even Small Repairs Help Keep Our Residents Safe

Some maintenance work may seem small, but it can make a meaningful difference in creating a safer environment for everyone.

About a month ago, we planned to repair several worn areas of the parking lot at Garim Nursing Home and Garim Day Care Center. After years of daily use, parts of the pavement had become uneven, and we wanted to repair them before they could become a safety risk.

However, the work had to be postponed because of the long rainy season. Concrete repairs require dry weather to cure properly, so rather than rushing the job, we waited for the right conditions to ensure a stronger and longer-lasting result.

Today, we were finally greeted with clear blue skies.

With perfect weather at last, we began the long-awaited repair work.

First, the damaged areas were carefully cleaned. Sand was then added to create a firm foundation before fresh concrete was applied and carefully leveled to match the surrounding pavement. Although it was not a large construction project, every step was completed with patience and attention to detail.

A parking lot is one of the busiest areas in any care facility.

Residents, family members, visitors, and staff use it every day. For older adults who rely on walkers or wheelchairs, even a small crack or uneven surface can increase the risk of slips, trips, or falls. A smooth and stable surface also helps family members feel more confident when assisting their loved ones in and out of vehicles.

At Garim, we believe that true safety begins with careful attention to the smallest details.

Preventive maintenance is always better than repairing damage after an accident has already occurred. That is why we regularly inspect entrances, hallways, ramps, handrails, gardens, walking paths, and parking areas, making improvements before small issues become bigger problems.

Today's parking lot repair may look like a simple maintenance task, but it reflects our ongoing commitment to providing a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment where older adults can enjoy their daily lives with confidence.

  요양원에 부모님을 모신 가족이라면 누구나 같은 마음일 것입니다. "오늘은 잘 지내고 계실까?" "식사는 잘 하셨을까?"
