우리 사회가 빠르게 고령화되면서 치매 어르신과 홀로 생활하시는 어르신을 위한 돌봄의 중요성이 더욱 커지고 있습니다.

최근 청주시가 지역 내 돌봄이 필요한 치매 어르신을 대상으로 인공지능 기반 돌봄로봇 ‘효돌이’를 무상으로 대여하는 사업을 추진한다는 소식이 전해졌습니다.

효돌이는 일반적인 기계형 로봇이 아니라 어르신에게 친근감을 줄 수 있도록 인형 형태로 제작된 돌봄기기입니다. 대화와 말벗 기능, 복약 및 일정 알림, 식사와 생활관리 안내 등을 통해 어르신의 일상을 돕는 역할을 합니다.

이러한 지원이 청주뿐 아니라 부여군에서도 확대되어 치매 어르신과 독거 어르신, 돌봄이 필요한 가정 등 더 많은 군민이 혜택을 받을 수 있기를 기대합니다.
